The Road Ecology Lab was founded in 2019 by
Rafa Barrientos at the department of Biodiversity,
Ecology and Evolution
of the Complutense University
of Madrid. Since then, many people have contributed to its development:

Rafa Barrientos
Group leader. He is currently a tenured professor in the area of Zoology.

Pablo Quiles

                                                   PhD Student (2019 to present).
He is doing his thesis on interspecific interactions disrupted by roads.
Plans to present his thesis in early 2025.

Javi Hernández-Hernández

Research assistant (2021 to 2023). He was a technician in the                                                                                             projects "Impact of roads on predator-prey relationships" and                                                                                           "How roads alter the assemblage of the carnivore community".                                                                                         He currently works at WWF/Adena.

Guille Carmona

Research assistant (2021 to 2023). He was a technician in the                                                                                             projects "Impact of roads on predator-prey relationships" and                                                                                          "How roads alter the assemblage of the carnivore community".                                                                                          He currently works at Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-León.
